Teething Tips
Is your Small teething?
Here’s my top teething tips for you:
It’s natural that your Small’s appetite for solids may get a little off. It’s hard not to panic when this happens but try to look at what they’re having over the week rather than a day. Their appetite is very likely to return once their teething has passed.
It’s also natural for them to become fussy whilst having their milk feeds. Again this usually settles once the tooth is through but it can be very frustrating! If you’re bottle feeding putting the teat in the fridge for 30 minutes before their feed can offer some relief.
Offering foods that are softer and easier to eat can help keep their tummies satisfied when they’re struggling to chew/eat. Think soups, filling stews, pasta with sauces etc.
Older ones may find it easier to drink their calories through a straw!
Chilled smoothies could be your new best teething friend especially if they’re off their solids! You can pack them with nutritious and delish ingredients to keep them going.
If you’re feeling super brave you can gently massage their gums with a clean finger. Always respect your baby if they push your finger away or cry!
Put a flannel in the fridge, get it nice and cold then give it to them to chomp on whilst they’re in the bath.
